Puncture Repair FAQ

How much does puncture repair cost in Scotland?

Our mobile puncture repair starts from £25 where the tyre is legally repairable. This includes the repair itself and rebalancing. If the tyre cannot be legally repaired (damage outside the repairable zone, or sidewall damage), we will advise a replacement tyre — quoted separately before any work.

Can all punctures be repaired?

No. Under British Standard BSAU159f, a tyre can only be repaired if the puncture is in the central three-quarters of the tread, the hole is no larger than 6mm, and the tyre has not been driven while significantly underinflated. Sidewall damage, cuts, or large holes cannot be repaired. We assess on arrival and tell you honestly whether repair is safe and legal.

Do you repair punctures at the roadside?

Yes — roadside puncture repair is our most common callout. We come to wherever you are: motorway layby, car park, roadside verge, or any safe stopping area. Call 0141 266 0690 and we will dispatch the nearest fitter.

How long does a puncture repair take?

A standard roadside puncture repair typically takes 20–30 minutes on site. This includes removing the wheel, inspecting the damage, inserting and vulcanizing the repair plug, rebalancing, and refitting. If a replacement tyre is needed, add another 10–15 minutes.

What if the puncture cannot be repaired — do you carry replacement tyres?

Yes. Every callout van carries a wide range of tyre sizes. If we assess the damage and determine that repair is not safe or legal, we can immediately fit a replacement tyre instead. You will be quoted the tyre price before we proceed.

Do you cover puncture repair in the Highlands and Islands?

Yes — we cover all of Scotland including the Highlands, NC500 route, and the islands (Skye, Lewis, Shetland). Response times for remote areas and islands are longer — call 0141 266 0690 for an honest ETA.
