# Fleet Tyre Management Scotland: Mobile Fitting for Business Fleets

Managing tyres across a Scottish business fleet — whether you run five delivery vans or fifty company cars — is a significant operational challenge. A tyre failure can strand a driver, delay deliveries, and cost far more in lost productivity than the price of the tyre itself. Tyre Rescue provides mobile fleet tyre management across all of Scotland, keeping your vehicles on the road.

What Fleet Tyre Management Means for Scottish Businesses

Fleet tyre management with Tyre Rescue covers:

  • Emergency callout — flat tyre anywhere in Scotland, day or night, prioritised for account customers
  • Scheduled tyre replacement — planned tyre changes at your depot, driver's home, or any company location
  • Tyre inspections — we can carry out tyre condition checks as part of scheduled visits
  • TPMS reset on every fitting — no warning lights left on in your fleet vehicles
  • Tyre disposal — old tyres taken away with every fitting, WEEE-compliant disposal
  • Driver liaison — we deal directly with drivers, so your fleet manager is not tied up coordinating calls

Why Mobile Tyre Fitting Makes Sense for Scottish Fleets

Traditional garage-based fleet tyre management has a key flaw: it takes vehicles off the road for several hours. Mobile fitting eliminates this.

Benefits for Scottish fleet operators:
  • Tyres fitted at your depot overnight or between shifts — vehicles ready for the next day
  • Driver-side fitting — van drivers do not lose hours driving to a garage and waiting
  • No vehicle downtime at a garage — fitting happens wherever the vehicle is parked
  • 24/7 emergency cover — a van with a flat at 11pm is not waiting until 8am
  • All of Scotland covered — including remote depot locations, rural areas, and island-based vehicles

Fleet Accounts and Billing

Tyre Rescue offers account management for fleet customers:

  • Monthly consolidated invoicing — one invoice for all fleet activity, simplifying administration
  • Per-vehicle billing records — full history by registration number for each vehicle in your fleet
  • Approved pricing — agreed per-tyre prices for your fleet's most common tyre sizes
  • Purchase order reference — add your PO number to bookings for seamless accounting

To enquire about a fleet account, call 0141 266 0690 and ask to speak to our fleet team, or email us directly.

Response Times for Scottish Fleet Emergencies

When a fleet vehicle has a flat tyre and needs to return to service quickly, our response times are:

  • Greater Glasgow: 25–40 minutes
  • Central Belt (Edinburgh, Falkirk, Stirling): 50–70 minutes
  • Dundee, Perth, Kirkcaldy: 65–85 minutes
  • Aberdeen, Inverness: approximately 90–100 minutes
  • Rural Highland locations: honest ETA given based on exact postcode

Fleet account customers are prioritised in dispatch — if your driver calls and quotes the account reference, they get faster access to the nearest available fitter.

Tyre Choice for Business Fleets

Budget vs premium for fleet vehicles?

For high-mileage fleet vehicles (vans doing 30,000+ miles/year), mid-range tyres from brands like Goodyear, Continental, or Bridgestone often represent better value than budget tyres. The additional tread life can mean fewer tyre changes per vehicle per year — reducing both the cost per mile and the downtime of scheduling changes.

For lower-mileage company cars, budget and mid-range tyres are often sufficient and reduce the per-vehicle tyre budget.

We discuss tyre choice with each fleet customer based on their vehicles, mileage, and operating conditions. Scottish routes — the A9, A82, A96, and rural B-roads — are hard on tyres, and we can advise accordingly.

Fleet Tyre Compliance: What Scottish Fleet Managers Need to Know

  • Legal minimum tread depth: 1.6mm — but we recommend replacing at 2–3mm for safety, especially in Scottish winter conditions
  • C-rated tyres on vans: Required by law. Fitting passenger-rated tyres on a commercial van is illegal and could invalidate insurance
  • TPMS reset after every fitting: A legal requirement on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes where TPMS is fitted; good practice on all vehicles
  • Tyre age: Most manufacturers recommend replacing tyres over 10 years old regardless of tread depth. For fleet vehicles, we flag any tyres approaching this age
