Off-road vs road tyres: the Wrangler is designed to accept a wide range of tyre types. Factory Highway Terrain (HT) tyres — such as the Nexen Roadian — are adequate for road use but offer limited off-road performance. Many Scottish Wrangler owners upgrade to All-Terrain (AT) tyres for Highland use. Best all-terrain tyres for Scotland Wranglers:

Load index for Wrangler 4xe PHEV: the 4xe plug-in hybrid Wrangler is significantly heavier than the standard petrol. Minimum load index 107+. Do not fit standard highway terrain tyres rated at 104 or below. Note on lifted Wranglers: many Scottish Wrangler owners run 2–4 inch lifts with 35" tyres (315/70R17 equivalent). Renegade 4xe PHEV: the plug-in hybrid Renegade weighs approximately 1,850 kg — significantly heavier than the petrol variant. Minimum load index 99. Do not fit a lower rating. Renegade Trailhawk: often fitted with Falken Wildpeak A/T tyres from factory. If replacing, maintain an all-terrain specification for the Trailhawk's raised suspension and off-road capability — fitting pure road tyres negates the Trailhawk purpose.

Jeep Avenger Tyre Guide (EV)

The Avenger is Jeep's first battery electric vehicle, launched in 2023.

No spare wheel — the Avenger EV does not carry a spare. Stellantis/Jeep supply an inflation kit. Sidewall damage or large punctures require a new tyre — call Tyre Rescue immediately and do not drive on the damaged tyre. Load index: 99+ required on the Avenger EV due to battery weight. TPMS on Avenger: direct TPMS sensors. After fitting new tyres, sensors must be reset using the Jeep vehicle menu or a diagnostic tool. Our technicians carry the relevant reset capability for Stellantis TPMS.

Jeep TPMS Reset Procedure

For Renegade, Compass, and Grand Cherokee models:

1. Check and set tyre pressure to the recommended level (driver's door sticker)
2. Turn ignition to ON (engine off)
3. Press and hold the TPMS reset button (varies by model — dashboard button or steering wheel menu)
4. Hold until TPMS light blinks three times
5. Drive at 15+ mph for 5 minutes to complete calibration

If TPMS warning persists, a sensor may require replacement (battery-powered sensors typically last 7–10 years).
